Earlier this year, two dedicated librarians in the North Bergen High School and Paterson Eastside High School found a great way to stretch their book budgets. Krista Welz of North Bergen and Pat Gordon from Eastside each filled out an application for the YALSA Top Ten Book Giveaway explaining why their students would love the books from the collection of 26 “Top Ten” teen-elected nominees and how the school and community would benefit from this gift. The schools were recently notified that they were among the 40 recipients from all over the country who were selected to receive this fantastic prize and the shiny new books have already arrived in their media centers.
