Media specialist, Mr. Peter Richter of the Westwood Jr/Sr High School, presented the workshop “Using Digital Collaboration Tools in Your Library Media Program” at the New Jersey Education Association’s (NJEA) annual conference in Atlantic City held in November. The workshop demonstrated to teachers and media specialist how to collaborate on research projects using an E- research organizer. Mr. Richter has also presented the workshop “Integrating Digital Tools and PARCC Instruction into your Library Media program” at the New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) Fall Conference in Long Branch.
Mr. Richter says that media specialists have an important role to play each year as they collaborate with teachers to provide media resources and teach library skills. In the last couple of years, student preparation and trainings for PARCC testing have become particularly important. “When I began using online tools like Edcite in my own instruction, I thought sharing these online tools with other educators was an important thing to do.” We heartily agree, and hope that his attendees got a lot of his Mr. Richter’s robust presentation.
